Things are getting out of hand in the GOP ad wars. The candidates (and their surrogates) have moved into “anything goes” mode, which means they’re not only stepping on toes, but also, on occasion, stepping way out of line.
The words that candidates said are getting twisted around and taken completely out of context. Result: These ads are now driving the national debate. Of course, the competing sides are spending a whole bunch of money as they try to focus and control that debate.
Is this kind of stuff good advertising? Is it any way to elect a president? I sat down with Tracy Byrnes of Fox Business Network for a reality check.
