The Obama Administration Runs An Ad On Pakistani Television Denouncing The Anti-Muslim Video…Why?

President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appear in a video looking quite apologetic for a YouTube video that they originally said caused the recent terrorist attack in Libya. Now that we know that the video did NOT cause the attack, why would the Obama administration run commercials, at a reported cost of $70,000.00, to denounce it?

I’m not in support of anyone denigrating the religious beliefs of another. However, our 1st Amendment rights must be protected and while I might not like the video, I believe that the filmmaker had every right to make it.

I’ve heard some people say that the video is incendiary. And that may indeed be true. But to blame the video is to take responsibility and personal accountability off of the shoulders of the terrorists. There is no justification for their actions.

What say you? It’s my blog, but it’s your voice and I’d love to hear from you on this.

Why would the Obama administration seemingly apologize for our 1st Amendment rights ?

Please understand, I do not in any way condone what the producer of the video did. I think the video was insulting. However, I also champion his right to make it. This is not shouting fire in a theater. Our rights need not be apologized for.

US turns to TV ads to spread message in protest-hit PakistanThu 20 Sep, 2012WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States has paid Pakistani television stations to run advertisements featuring President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, hoping to soothe public opinion in a country hit by protests against an anti-Islam movie made in California, the State Department said on Thursday. The U.S. embassy in Islamabad spent about $70,000 to run the announcement, which features clips of Obama and Clinton underscoring U.S. respect for religion and declaring the U.S. government had nothing to do with the movie, it said."In order to ensure we reached the largest number of Pakistanis, some 90 million as I understand it in this case with these spots, it was the judgment that this was the best way to do it," State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland told a news briefing. The U.S. announcement aired as Washington warned Americans to avoid non-essential travel to Pakistan, one of the mostly Muslim countries hit by a wave of anti-American demonstrations. In Libya, a deadly assault last week killed the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans. The protests, which were sparked by an Internet video that mocked the Prophet Mohammad and swept through Yemen, Egypt and other countries, also prompted the U.S. government to withdraw non-essential personnel in Tunisia and Sudan. In Pakistan, protesters have demonstrated in more than a dozen cities.Counter-terrorism analysts for the New York Police Department warned in a paper circulated on Thursday that the anti-U.S. and anti-Western protests would continue to spread, fueled most recently by a French magazine’s publication of cartoons lampooning the Prophet Mohammad. The cartoons in France’s Charlie Hebdo satirical weekly have provoked relatively little street anger thus far, although about 100 Iranians demonstrated outside the French embassy in Tehran.Nuland said the decision to buy the television ads, identified as paid public service announcements, was not unusual in countries where this is "the norm for getting your message out.""I think the sense was that this particular aspect of the president and the secretary’s message needed to be heard by more Pakistanis than had heard it, and that this was an effective way to get that message across," she said. She said it would take time to measure the effectiveness of the ads in Pakistan, where on Thursday huge crowds again gathered to protest against the video.(Reporting by Andrew Quinn and Mark Hosenball; editing by Warren Strobel and Mohammad Zargham)Krishna Kumar Gupta
The U.S. has bought $70,000 worth of air time on seven Pakistani television channels to air an ad showing President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton denouncing the anti-Islamic video that has sparked violent protests in the Middle East and North Africa. In the 30-second ad that began running Thursday, Obama says, “Since our founding the United States has been a nation that respects all faiths. So, the Democrats are worried about the 47%, but they are spending $70,000.00 of taxpayer money, daily, on Pakistani television, apologizing for a video on YouTube that they have now admit was NOT the reason for the attack. Add salt to the wound, new reports are coming out that serious security lapses and misjudgements in the embassy attack are showing this should have not occurred. But, still, Obama leads in the polls. Many of us are taking these stories to FB because people are not watching the news anymore or believing 1/2 truths, or, allowing MANIPULATIONS straight from the White House. Wake up, America!!! This president couldn’t run a lemonade stand… but, he sure was pleased with himself on Letterman…. (as the Middle East Burned and Israel begged for our support.) US using TV ads in Pakistan to quell anger over anti-Islam filmhttp://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=2012\09\21\story_21-9-2012_pg7_3WASHINGTON: The United States has bought time on Pakistani television stations to run a series of adverts in a bid to stem Muslim protests at an amateur anti-Islam film, a US official said on Wednesday. The State Department has spent some $70,000 to air the ad in Urdu on seven Pakistani TV channels in a bid to disassociate the US government from the inflammatory film, spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said. “After the video came out there was concern in lots of bodies politic, including in Pakistan, whether this represented the views of the US government,” Nuland told journalists. “So in order to ensure we reached the largest number of Pakistanis, some 90 million as I understand in this case with these spots, it was the judegment that this was the best way to do it.” The 30-second ad shows clips of President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton taken from their speeches made since the violence flared in Muslim nations last week. It also includes an image of the US seal “to make clear it’s official”, and a notice that they were paid for, although Nuland was uncertain whether the name of the State Department was included. Obama is shown saying, “Since our founding the United States has been a nation that respects all faiths. We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others.” afpRoyalist Humanist

The American Embassy in Islamabad, in a bid to tamp down public rage over the anti-Islam film produced in the U.S., is spending $70,000 to air an ad on Pakistani television that features President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton denouncing the video. The State Department said Thursday the embassy had compiled brief clips of Obama and Clinton rejecting the contents of the movie and extolling American tolerance for all religions into a 30-second public service announcement that is running on seven Pakistani networks. Obama and Clinton’s comments, which are from previous public events in Washington, are in English but subtitled in Urdu, the main Pakistani language. **Give me a break! U.S. Embassy advertisements condemning an anti-Islam video appeared on Pakistani television on Thursday in an attempt to undercut anger against the United States, where the film was produced. Hundreds of youths, however, clashed with security officials as they tried in vain to reach the embassy in Islamabad amid outrage in many countries over the film’s vulgar depiction of the Prophet Muhammad.Advertisement:The ads reflected efforts by the U.S. government to distance itself from the video in a country where anti-American sentiment already runs high. Violence linked to the movie has left at least 30 people in seven countries dead, including the American ambassador to Libya. Two people have died in protests in Pakistan. In recent days, the decision by a French satirical magazine to release cartoons crudely depicting the prophet has added to the tension, as may the upcoming issue of the German satirical magazine Titanic. The magazine’s co-editor Martin Sonneborn said it was up to readers to decide whether the cover of an Arab wielding a sword actually depicts the Prophet Muhammad. Most outrage appears linked to the amateurish movie, which portrays the prophet as a fraud, womanizer and child molester. The television ads in Pakistan feature clips of President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton during press appearances in Washington in which they condemned the video. Their words were subtitled in Urdu.“We absolutely reject its content and message,” said Clinton in the advertisement. The advertisements end with the seal of the American Embassy in Islamabad, the Pakistani capital.Buhary Rafi

Well, the state dept. just spent $70,000 on a video apology to the Muslims that aired on Pakistani TV. Barrack Hussein Obama was the star in the film with long time adversary turned accomplice, Hillary, as his co-star. What do you know, technology has creeped into the continuing apology tour.
