Don’t Fall Victim To “Social Darwinism”
I recently watched a video by Brian Solis, a principal at the Altimeter Group, talking about the Social Economy. If you’re in business, or seeking to be in business, you should be following and interacting with @BrianSolis as much as possible. Brian is known worldwide as one of the most prominent thought leaders in new media.
In the video below he speaks at a Ted Talk about the way that business in today’s social economy, has completely evolved. Today we’re all in the people business. There’s no B-2-B, there’s no B-2-C, it’s all about being able to relate directly to the consumer directly and activating that consumer.
Solis defines this concept and underscores its importance in business by stating a very basic premise. Change or die. Technology is forcing business to move at blazing speed and those that don’t respect this change will be taken over in a technological survival of the fittest.
Digital Darwinism is the evolution of consumer behavior when society & technology evolve faster than your ability to adapt.
Watch the video below and see how he describes this evolution. It’s important that brands and businesses today take notice of this.
As Solis wrote, “Screw Business As Usual.”
