Since I am a sports fan in South Florida, I am happy to see LeBron join the Miami Heat. But as much as I would love to see Lebron, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh bring a NBA championship back to Miami, I have other reasons for supporting LeBron and his decision to leave Cleveland. Why? Because it was a carefully calculated business decision. Nothing more. Nothing less. According to LeBron, the Heat made him an offer he couldn’t refuse, saying he believed leaving the Cavs was the only way he could fulfill his dream of winning a championship. He actually walked away from $30 million by NOT signing with the Cavs. How can you fault him for that?!

Alley’s new show, Kirstie Alley’s Big Life, is débuting on A&E this Sunday. While the show is billed as a “docu-series…which chronicles the many aspects of her extraordinary film life,” the only thing the previews talk about is her weight!

Unless you haven’t turned on your television within the past couple of weeks (and even then you’re probably not immune), you’ve heard about the shit storm NBC has gotten itself into over its late-night lineup…
Trust me, I get that it’s all about the bottom line in business. But I also believe that a man – or a network, in this case – is only as good as his word. NBC’s Jeff Zucker should be ashamed of himself for throwing O’Brien aside the minute things got tough.

Just in case you’re not a woman and haven’t heard the news, Oprah has announced that the next season will be the last for The Oprah Winfrey Show. Like everything else Oprah does, the announcement has gotten lots of attention. Oprah issued a statement saying:
“I love this show. This show has been my life. And I love it enough to know when it’s time to say good-bye.”
I hate to interrupt the waterworks, but I have to say…BULLSHIT!

The ongoing situation with Tiger Woods has got me pissed as hell. Whatever happened to athletes as role models? Years ago, athletes were held to a higher standard because they were viewed as role models for children. Teams wouldn’t have put up with this kind of behavior from one of their players. These men and women are paid astronomical salaries not only because they’re great athletes but also because they have a responsibility to the community and to the world to answer to a higher authority. And they should be held accountable for that.
