It’s Going, Going… Party City

The Mets play their home games at Citi field, which looks a lot different in left field this year than it did last year. For one thing, fans will notice that the outfield walls are now the right color — Mets blue. And for another, they’ll find a brand-new, fan-friendly seating area suspended over left field. Barstools, padded seats, waiters and waitresses, and a real party environment. All the fans are asking: “What is that? And how do I get a seat over there?”

Recession? I Choose not to Participate

Yes, there are some heavy pressures on some consumers right now.
Yes, there is a lot of uncertainty in our economy as a whole, and in the retail sector particularly.
Yes, there are far fewer discretionary dollars for consumers to spend than there were a few years ago.
But I don’t believe that any of this means that consumers are now destined to be permanently wary of anything but store brands and coupon-driven purchases.
